Where to keep it and how to use it

Keep it in the pooja room or at the entrance and light it with ghee or gingelly oil and a cotton wick at dusk, and especially on Fridays, Diwali and Varalakshmi Vratham.

Care

Wipe it with a soft dry cloth after pooja. Avoid harsh chemical cleaners. A gentle polish with tamarind paste or a mild metal cleaner brings back the shine; after abhishekam, rinse and dry it fully.
